Project Background

Project Background

This task is to develop the hydrologic and hydraulic model for Purgatory Creek.  This is part of the Districts goal to have a district wide model.  Previous work related to this task included work to control runoff into Lotus Lake and mitigate extreme lake level fluctuations.  Tasks include developing a hydrologic and hydraulic model, developing a plan to minimize high water events on Lotus Lake due to outlet obstructions, and implement Low Impact Development practices to help minimize low water events.   The budget for the 2012 effort includes the remainder from 2011 ($49,020) plus the 2012 approved  amount of $75,000.

Current Project Status

Modeling work continues on Purgatory Creek.  Work on the section north of 212 is finishing up.  Initial work began on the section between Valley View and 212; land survey work commenced.  We presented the status of the District’s modeling at a special manager meeting March 20, 2012.  As a result of that presentation, we presented additional model information during the April Manager's meeting.  This included a demonstration of the modeling software.
